Abstract :
Fiber-coupled laser diodes have become essential sources for fiber laser pumping and direct energy applications. To obtain high power, high brightness semiconductor laser beam output, based on the model for describing the far field distribution of high-power laser diode, the bipeak structure of optical intensity distribution is analyzed and modeled in the direction perpendicular and parallel to the junction. The angular power distribution is obtained using method of rays tracing and numerical integration algorithm through cylindrical lens. Some useful conclusions for the design of high power high brightness diode laser systems are gained.
