Abstract :
In order to meet the requirements of fiber optic gyroscope in the space irradiation environment, irradiation properties of Y-waveguide multifunction integrated optical circuit (MIOC) device was studied theoretically and experimentally. The 60Co γ-rays total dose irradiation, proton irradiation and neutron irradiation properties were investigated. The results show that the irradiation ionization effect and displacement effect of the device are weak. The performance of the device keeps stable before and after irradiation, even after 3 years storage in laboratory environment and with no bleaching or degradation. The study in this paper indicates that Y-waveguide MIOC is insensitive to irradiation and can meet the reliability requirements for long-term space applications.
