Abstract :
Local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) refers to localized oscillation among the isolated metal nanoparticles with a resonance wavelength that is determined by morphology of the nanoparticles. Plasmon resonance in metal nanoparticles has been a focus of intensive research activity in recent years. It has been revealed that the metal structures can dramatically enhance the local electrical field by concentrating electromagnetic energies into subwavelength volumes. In order to get further insight on local plasmon resonance, we employ the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method to analyze the surface plasmon resonance wavelength of periodic gold nanodisk arrays since it can be easily found the position of resonance wavelength in the absorption spectra. In this paper, we present FDTD calculations of the absorption spectra of various gold nanodisk arrays with a series of diameters, heights, periods and thicknesses of dielectric layer, and study their influences on resonance wavelength.
