Abstract :
Effect of clipping voltage on the transmission performance of peak-clipped optical SSB-SC signal is analyzed. Optical SSB-SC signal degrades during the transmission due to high PAPR. Peak clipping reduces PAPR and can be used to improve transmission performance. Spectral degradation due to peak clipping is noticed. By analyzing the eye diagrams of transmitted signal it is found that the effect of modulation depth on the characteristics of peak-clipped optical SSB-SC signal can be controlled by adjusting the clipping voltage.
