Abstract
In this study, a low-profile triple-band fork-shaped coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed antenna is proposed for long term evolution (LTE) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WIMAX) applications. A fork-shaped stub radiating element and ground plane form the triple band antenna that is fed by CPW. The proposed antenna is etched on the metallic layer of a single sided printed circuit board. The fork stub length parameters of the proposed antenna are changed to design and fabricate the antenna which can be operated at 900/1800/3500 MHz successfully. We use IE3D software to design antenna. The influences of fork-shaped stub length parameters of the proposed antenna on the operating frequency band and impedance bandwidth are described. The peak gains of the fabricated antenna are 1.29dBi, 1.65dBi and 5.41dBi at 900MHz, 1800MHz and 3500MHz, respectively. It can be used in LTE 900/1800MHz and 3.5GHz TD-LTE/WIMAX frequency bands.
