The Development of a Mobile APP for a Hospitality and Tourism Course at Technological Universities

This study aims to develop a mobile application (App) for teaching Hospitality and Tourism courses at technology universities. By combining this APP with blended learning and ubiquitous learning, this research intends to construct effective education models and strategies that can help the learning and teaching of students and teachers of Hospitality and Tourism profession with this auxiliary tool. This study will not only broadcast instant multi-media learning content of Hospitality and Tourism English to students through smart phones and iPads, but also utilize other functions such as audio and video recording, messaging, GPS to cultivate students´ abilities to deal with real situations, and to develop effective models and strategies in teaching Hospitality and Tourism English. The ultimate goals are to promote students´ interest and motivation in learning professional English, improve their abilities in dealing with real situations as well as skills in applying technology media, and eventually enhance their competitiveness in job market.
