Abstract
From directional surveys, calculating the well courses can generate errors due to the uncertainty of the survey methods. These methods are analyzed and discussed in terms of which of these models approximates the real well course best, since all models yield different results with the same given survey data. This paper studies a real case of directional well design, which was obtained from Al-Kafji Joint Operation Company (KJOC) with the resulting data of the well path. Two common directional drilling survey methods are applied on the real case and the results have been compared and discussed.
