Abstract :
This paper proposes a very simple chaotic circuit which contains a charge-controlled memristor, a capacitor and an inductor, for generating pseudo random (PN) sequences. The circuit can exhibit chaos in appropriate parameters of capacitance and inductance. We analyze the dynamics of the circuit, including equilibrium points and its stability, bifurcation diagram, Lyapunov exponents and dynamic map. Then this chaotic system is used to design a PN generator as a random seed, and the generated sequences are tested using the NIST test suit. Besides, we do a comparative analysis with the disperse Logistic map. The tested results show that the chaotic sequences obtained from the generator fully satisfy the standard of NIST, implying that the PN generator possesses good random characteristics and can be applied to the chaotic secure communication and information encryption. Furthermore, the proposed PN sequence generator is digitally implemented by using DSP technology. Finally, as an example of application, the proposed PN sequences are employed to encrypt image.
