Abstract
The Academic Management System (AMS) is a system capable of storing, managing, and modifying student related information within a database. The AMS is a necessary tool that assists university staff in handling students´ big data within the institution. The lack of system usability within the AMS has led to low staff productivity, dissatisfaction, repetitive errors in data entry, emotional distraction which eventually leads to time wastage, substantial monetary loss, and causes demotivation among staff. Hence, this study aims to evaluate the usability of AMS at the International Islamic College (IIC) using the Usability Testing evaluation technique. This research is conducted using two data collection techniques which are the qualitative Usability Testing and the quantitative questionnaire survey. This study is important in order to discover any usability issues of the AMS and receive recommendations from the users´ point of view as to improve the system. Besides that, this study also will disclose how learnable, memorable, efficient, error-free, ability to satisfy as well as to distinguish users´ emotions towards the AMS.
