  • Abstract
The US Navy has had tremendous initial success with transitioning COTS UUV technology into an effective fleet expeditionary MCM system. Research and testing of advanced mine hunting sensors and autonomous target recognition algorithms into MCM UUV systems shows enormous potential for establishing the next level of technological and operational capability in UUVs. This will further improve the Navy´s ability to conduct the MCM mission using safer and more efficient techniques.
