Abstract
The loop gain could affect the performance of a GNSS carrier tracking loop in different conditions. A factor is inserted to carrier tracking loop to adjust loop gain conveniently. The mathematical relationship between the performance of a universal second order carrier tracking loop and its loop gain was derived and analyzed in detail. The maximum, minimum, and optimal loop gain was given in different vehicle dynamic and carrier-to-noise ratio. The selection strategy of loop gain was designed and verified in different dynamic environments. The test result indicate the carrier tracking loop with selection strategy of loop gain can lock signal quickly and relieve the high dynamic stress.
