  • Abstract
    In traditional R & D method of electromagnetic wave imaging equipment, testing the algorithm is only possible after the integration of their RF transceiver front-end and signal process & imaging back-end. This results in some problems and errors not being found in the early stages of design. In order to improve the development efficiency and reduce the risk, the semi-physical simulation & test including rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop was introduced to the R & D procedure, and a V-mode based flow for the development of electromagnetic wave imaging equipment was proposed. Then an example system was implemented with multiple instruments for test and measurement integrated, by which the RF transceiver front-end and signal process & imaging back-end were designed and developed in parallel and most tests would have been done during their development. This led to early detection of problems and errors being achieved. The system has been applied to the R & D of ultra-wide band (UWB) microwave and terahertz (THz) wave imaging system.
