Abstract
A Novel and Simple T-shape coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole antenna with filter properties is presented. The proposed monopole antenna consists of a rectangular patch with microstrip resonator has been designed. A coupling structure having a closed loop step-impedance resonator embedded with an open uniform resonator is capable of generating Tri-band monopole antenna. The proposed antenna was designed to operate at three resonating frequencies 2.4, 3.5 and 5 GHz, which covers a frequency bands from (2.37-2.48.GHz), (3.5-3.63GHz), (4.64-5.41GHz) respectively. The tri-band filtering antenna shows monopole-like radiation pattern and gain over the operating bands have been obtained.
