  • Abstract
In this paper, tri band dual segment ring dielectric resonator antenna with partial ground plane is presented. Proposed ring shape DRA is excited by modified microstrip line. Two different modes i.e. TM01δ and HE11δ are generated in ring DRA at 3.45 GHz and 5.41 GHz respectively. The proposed design operates in three different frequency bands i.e. 2.17 - 2.46 GHz; 3.17-4 GHz; 5-6.5 GHz with the fractional bandwidth of 10.8%; 23.15% and 26.08% respectively. Proposed antenna is able to cover three frequency bands for different wireless applications (WLAN (2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz) and WiMAX (3.5/5.5 GHz) bands). Proposed design has been analyzed, optimized using Ansoft HFSS simulation software. Final simulated results have also been verified using CST Microwave Studio.
