Abstract :
An analytical model of the winding flux linkage is proposed for fully pitched mutual coupled switched reluctance motors (MCSRM). Basic magnetic field laws are used for the derivation phase winding fluxes of the machine. The model is not empirical and does not require any finite element analysis (FEA) data. The model only takes in the dimensions of the machine as inputs and then calculates the winding flux linkage at any current and rotor position. The model is applicable for the rotor positions where the stator and rotor poles overlap. There are some assumptions which are described initially. Then the step by step procedure of flux linkage calculation is provided. The flux linkages predicted through the model is compared with the FEA results.
