Abstract
This paper presents design development of permanent magnet two phase transverse flux linear motor with inner mover type. Infolytica©´s electromagnetic field simulation software, MagNet® is used to analyze the field distribution of the motor by using three-dimensional finite-element analysis method. The effect of geometrical and electrical parameters on the traction and normal force are studied and an optimum design is proposed by achieving the maximum possible traction force. The ripple effect of the traction force is minimized as compared to single phase model.
