Abstract :
A system of two apparatuses connected by a coaxial shielded cable and protected against EMI by shielded enclosures is considered. The electromagnetic field inside the enclosures produced by an external field excitation is analyzed by solving numerically the electromagnetic field problem. The procedure is divided in several steps. First, the induced currents on the external surfaces of the PEC enclosures and on the cable shield are calculated by a full wave numerical technique. Then, the induced voltage and current inside the cable are calculated at the input ports of the shielded enclosures by a transmission line (TL) approach. Finally, the induced effects inside the loaded enclosures are analyzed by a circuit-oriented, full wave numerical procedure
