Abstract :
The management of radar resources plays a key role in harnessing all the benefits the radar provides, be it phased array radar or MIMO radar. In recent past, MIMO radar has received lot of attention from researchers. MIMO radar can be deployed in many configurations based on the end goal to be achieved. Broadly, there are two different configurations of MIMO radar viz., statistical MIMO and coherent MIMO. In coherent MIMO, the radar can be again a omni MIMO or subapertured MIMO. There are different processing schemes and waveforms which could be used for coherent MIMO to achieve different performances. Irrespective of the configuration used, the resource manager for any agile radar plays a vital role in maximizing the usage of radar resources. This paper deals with resource manager for MIMO radar and brings out the savings of radar resources in MIMO radar vis-a-vis phased array radar.
