Abstract :
We consider wireless power transfer, realized by means of resonant reactive magnetic coupling, between one transmitter and two receivers. It is shown that, by applying a rigorous analytical procedure, maximum power transfer can be achieved by appropriately selecting the load values and closed form formulas for the latter are given. Similarly, closed form formulas for load values that maximize efficiency are also derived. It is seen that the resistances for realizing maximum power transfer are always larger than the resistances that realize maximum efficiency. Accordingly, an optimal range of operation for the load resistances values is also determined. A numerical and experimental verification of the theoretical results is also presented.
