Abstract :
Full-wave modelling of electrically large antenna arrays made by several hundreds of elements has been one of the most challenging tasks for standard numerical techniques. In principle, the Integral Equation (IE) approach is fully appropriate to the modelling of open problems and for the analysis of complex antenna systems. Nevertheless it is well known that standard techniques are limited by the computational efforts involved in the electrically large problems of interest. This paper reviews recent developments in the frame of advanced acceleration algorithms for MoM based full-wave solver and related CAE tools that have considerably reduced the computational requirements for the analysis of large arrays. An application to the evaluation of coupling among two large Vivaldi arrays is shown.
