Abstract
This paper describes a study on the radiated emission from the market readily available straight flexible printed circuit (FPC) cable with multiple intentional folds. Such folding mechanism enables the FPC to connect the transmitter interfaces to the receiver interfaces on different axis directions and different offset locations but on the same axis direction. Furthermore, the folding mechanism will also save the cost of FPC customization by using the off-the-shelf straight FPC cable. Through this study, recommendation on choosing the suitable FPC cable will be provided based on the material stack-up, cable length and the number of folding.
