Abstract
A flexible ultrawideband (UWB) CPW-fed antenna based on Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) is presented in this paper. The monopole antenna which covers a broad impedance bandwidth from 2.7GHz to 13.9GHz is designed and fabricated on a 0.1mm LCP substrate. The characteristics of the antenna are simulated and analyzed under different bending radii. There are no significant differences for the gain and return loss of the antenna between bending and flat case for simulation results. Then the radiation pattern and the performances including return loss and gain of the proposed antenna are measured under both flat and bending cases. The resonant frequency shifts due to the bending effects in return loss curves are observed. The radiation patterns of the antenna also vary with different bending radii.
