Abstract :
The orbital angular momentum (OAM) of the electromagnetic wave is a potential solution to increase the communication capacity. A new OAM antenna structure, which is based on the folded reflectarray antenna, is proposed in this paper. Such an antenna structure overcomes these disadvantages of a traditional OAM antenna, such as large longitudinal size, mismatching between the wave and the dielectric, low efficiency, etc. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed structure, a Ka-band antenna prototype with 78 ×78mm2 is designed and measured. The prototype can realize high gain, and the wavefront of the antenna is a standard helix.
