Abstract :
In this paper, the automotive windshield impact on the W-band millimeter wave electromagnetic signal transmission is presented to indicate reference for designing the 77GHz automotive FMCW radar. Windshields from different vendors are measured, simulations and measurements results show that the vehicle windshields have an apparent but steady impact on the signal transmission of W-band signal, which indicate a design basis for 77GHz FMCW radar.
