Abstract :
The parasitic non-linear resistances solid and Litz wire windings operating are studied over a wide operating frequency range. The skin and proximity effects that cause the winding parasitic resistance of an inductor to increase with the operating frequency are considered along with the expressions for the ac resistances as functions of the operating frequency. The measured and calculated values of the inductor ac resistances plotted versus frequency and compared for both solid and Litz wire winding. The theoretical results were in good agreement with those experimentally measured
