Abstract :
The transformation methodology (TransMeth) presented in this paper has evolved over numerous years, with contributions to its development and application from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines, organizations and universities. While the TransMeth has components similar to strategic planning and general organizational transformation processes, it has evolved from a more narrowly-focused strategic planning process to a methodology for transformation integrating various quality and improvement tools, practices and processes. In this paper, the authors explore how the utilization of enterprise modeling software tools (knowledge models and representational tools) can be applied within the TransMeth to supplement the improvement tools and practices (such as mission statement, vision, and cross-functional improvement teams). Integrating these tools and concepts will enable the development of a transformation knowledge management system, encompassing the creation, documentation, dissemination and utilization of enterprise knowledge to support and guide transformation efforts
