A Web-based Bilingual Natural Language Interface to Database

Natural Language Interface to Database (NLIDB) enables end-user to communicate with the system in their native language. Many NLIDB systems have been developed in last few decades, these are mostly based on the Swing Technology. The paper proposes an NLIDB system namely WB-NLIDB (Web-based Bilingual Natural Language Interface to Database) that uses two natural languages Hindi and Punjabi. User can create query in both of the languages and receive the response in same natural language. For the formation of SQL query from natural language input, system uses the cases solver (Karak). The most important feature that has been introduced is the GUI of the system is web based using which the user enters the query in the Web browser and receives the response from the same browser. The developed system can run on any platform by simply connecting it with the local host. Also, WB-NLDDB provides various usability components for the end-users like inbuilt keywords for typing query, auto-complete text, storage of successful queries etc.
