Abstract
The technique for analytical determination of ferromagnetic conductor skin layer characteristics in a sinusoidal electromagnetic field under conditions of the conductor heating and non-linear magnetic properties has been developed. The proposed approach can be used for induction-heating installation engineering design. According to this, a conductor non-linear magnetization curve is firstly replaced by one and then by two linear sections. It is defined that conductor skin layer has constant values of specific conductivity and average temperature. Electrodynamics linear equations are solved for conductive semispace. Such skin layer parameters as an estimated magnetic permeability, a skin layer thickness and its average temperature, time of electromagnetic influence on the conductor at given maximum conductor surface temperature, electromagnetic field pressure on the conductor, resistance and inductance of the conductor are calculated. Reliability of the technique is confirmed by concordance of ferromagnetic conductor resistance and inductance with values obtained from other techniques.
