Abstract :
In this paper, a finite element modeling is coupled with several optimization techniques for the advanced design of microwave components. The techniques are applied to the design of a microstrip resonator in order to optimize its stop-band behavior. The optimized resonator is then employed for the realization of a 5-pole filter showing improved stop-band performances compared to a standard design. Measurements show a good agreement with theoretical results.
