Abstract :
We propose a novel structure for an InP-based polarization beam splitter/combiner by employing phase shifters which allow us to adjust the properties of the TE modes individually. We demonstrate the easy adjustment of the PBS/PBC properties with the proposed structure and method and obtain a polarization extinction ratio of 14 dB.
