Abstract :
We investigate a single-trench waveguide TE-TM mode converter in the GalnAsP waveguide of which structure is compatible with a GaInAsP waveguide optical isolator. A TE-TM mode conversion efficiency of 91.6 % is achieved at a wavelength of 1.55 μm in the fabricated device with a 200-μm conversion length.
