Abstract :
A silicon waveguide Mach-Zehnder interferometer with weighted grating structures for a tunable add-drop filter and ferroelectric liquid crystal cladding is proposed and fabricated. Bistable tuning operation with about 1.3-nm shift in wavelength characteristics was demonstrated.
