Abstract
The Direct Torque Control (DTC) has well-known advantages over conventional techniques applied to electric machines, including the reduction of the switching frequency through the use of hysteresis comparators and robustness with the respect to parameter variations. But it has some disadvantages such as high torque and flux ripple, difficulties in controlling torque and flux at low speed. In this work an intelligent approach is proposed for the realization of the DTC for a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) by means of Artificial Neural Networks (RN). In addition, a comparative between the response obtained with conventional DTC (DTCC) and the neural network based DTC (DTCRN) is presented.
