Abstract :
Summary form only given. More and more employees use computers due to the growth in information technology (IT). Also, IT has been greatly developed. However, it is said that few corporations are satisfied with their information systems. In addition, although some individual companies exhibited many examples of improving customer satisfaction and reducing costs, "the productivity paradox of IT," which means the inability to prove IT contribution to increasing productivity, has been discussed in various respects. This paper analyzes how performance can be explained by individual Information Network Building and organizational commitment. Using a mail questionnaire, data were collected from 505 sales staff at computer-affiliated companies in Japan. The analysis found that an employee who has high affective commitment shows a positive relation between information network building and performance. However, if affective commitment is low, job performance can also be low despite its high information network building. It is suggested that high information network building emphasizes organizational commitment more than low information network building
