Abstract
Summary form only given. The technology policies, for instance, R&D programs supported by the government have been playing great roles to develop IT (information and telecommunications) industry and digital economy in Korea. However, in order to be effective, their missions and roles could not be the same as the IT industry grows. Therefore the policies should be carefully designed along with the industrial and technological changes. In this context, this paper analyzes how the roles of national R&D programs of Korea were changed and how accordingly the policy measures of Korea affected the development of IT industry and the infrastructure for the digital economy of Korea
