Abstract
Electric vehicles (EVs) can help to decrease the emissions in the transport sector, especially in combination with an increase in renewable energies. However, the comparably small range of available EVs still prevents a higher volume of sales. In a fleet test in the Ruhr-Area of Germany, technologies for long distance electromobility, namely EVs with DC high power charging capability and EVs with range extenders, were compared and evaluated with regard to energy consumption and acceptance. Commuters with middle and long distances represented one of the main user groups. Project results concerning behavior of this group and energy consumption are presented in this paper.
