Abstract :
Verification for the measurements of ground-based LiDAR (Leosphere-WIND CUBE v2) was carried out by comparing with wind data measured at a meteorological mast for 14 days at Sumang of Jeju Island, South Korea. The 10-min average wind data of 1029 was analyzed after being filtering with specific criteria. Ruggedness index, RIX, was derived from elevation contour of Sumang, which was 2.91% corresponding to complex terrain. Linear regression analysis was conducted with the concurrent wind data measured at LiDAR and a meteorological mast. As a result, the coefficients of determination for wind speed data were all more than 0.88 at40m, 50m, 60m and 70m above ground level, respectively. The average LiDAR error rate and the standard deviation for wind speeds were 6.13% and 4.84%, respectively.
