Abstract
In recent years, the automated guided vehicle (AGV) system has an extensive application in industrial manufacture. Energy consumption of AGVs is becoming a significant problem. In this paper, we consider the pickup and delivery procedure of multiple products in stereoscopic warehouses or depots. Particularly, energy consumption minimization is regarded as the optimal object to plan effective routes for heterogeneous AGVs, which have different applications in the implementation of freight transport. In order to solve this energy-consumption-considered heterogeneous AGV routing problem (EHARP), a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is applied by taking the speed of the algorithm into consideration. In particular, the simulation results demonstrate that our proposed model performs well and the amount of energy consumption can be decreased.
