Abstract
This paper proposes a system to connect a small wind turbine to the electric grid, which controls the current injected into the mains and it tracks the maximum power of the generator. The proposed system is based on a three-phase diode bridge rectifier, a DC-DC Forward converter that provides electrical isolation, gain and control, and a Full-Bridge inverter, which it is fed in current and it is switched at low frequency. The analysis of the topological states, principle of operation, dynamic models, controller structures, simulation results and experimental results for a 1 kW system connected to the mains (220 V/ 60 Hz) are presented herein.
