  • Abstract
The integration of Switched Capacitors (SC) and conventional converters provides advantages such as high gain, reduced stress and voltage regulation. However, it increases the system order and the complexity analysis. Therefore, this paper proposes the development of a methodology for modeling a hybrid switched-capacitor boost converter based on the state space modeling theory, which enables to study in detail these new topologies. Steady-state and dynamic models for operation in continuous conduction mode along with a brief converter analysis are still presented and verified by numerical simulation. As result of the state space modeling, the components stresses are obtained and, in addition, dynamic models are defined. Furthermore, from the proposed methodology a reduced order model is still derived, resulting in simplified transfer functions as well as the controllers design.
