Abstract :
This article presents a method to drive a voltage type inverter from signals generated by a programmable logic device (FPGA - Field Programmable Gate Array). The pulse width modulated signal (PWM) used to drive the inverter was generated by the comparison between a digital triangular and a sine wave, the last one obtained from a ROM memory used as a look-up table. The circuit was implemented in an Altera FPGA device using the program interface between Altera´s DSP Builder and Matlab´s Simulink. The system was connected to an IGBTs based inverter.
