Abstract :
This paper presents a detailed analysis of two-level bidirectional five-phase PWM rectifier. The operation of the rectifier in steady-state is described, including the modulation strategy. Modeling of the rectifier is developed in rotational reference frame and small-signal models for phase current and output voltage control are presented. A control strategy in dq frame is presented to ensure the operation with unity power factor. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the operation of the five-phase rectifier in steady-state and dynamic conditions, also operation with reverse power flow is presented.
