Abstract
This work aims to present the dynamical study regarding the HVDC link of Madeira river hydroelectric complex, which is composed by Santo Antonio and Jirau hydropower plants located in southeastern Brazil, whose total installed capacity is 6,900 MW. The HVDC system comprises two 3,150-MW bipolar links and two back-to-back stations rated at 400 MW. The analysis is based on simulations of the system model using PSCAD/EMTDC software. The obtained results are also compared with actual system data provided by ONS through a RAP for validation purposes.
