Abstract :
The capacity of spectrally overlaid narrowband code division multiple access (N-CDMA) and wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) system using single code and multicode is analysed. The system is intended to support multiclass services in which the N-CDMA will be used to serve voice communication and W-CDMA is used for high speed data transmission. Two different methods are used for data transmission. The first one is the conventional method that uses different spreading gain for transmitting different class of service, and the second one is multicode. It is shown that the capacity of the system using multicode is better than that of system using single code
