Abstract
Viewing angle is an important concept in the field of integral imaging. Black zone phenomena is difficult to be solved by conventional light field conversion method. This paper proposes a novel pixel mapping method. Based on symmetric light ray equivalent principle, the method can eliminate the black border area of integral imaging with asymmetric integral imaging system. The technology is also derived to implement an effective light field conversion without loss of ray information in the border area of integral imaging. Simulated and optical experimental results are presented to demonstrate feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Different types of black zone can be avoided, and the viewing angle is enlarged.
