Abstract
To realize quick file delivery on various kinds of networks including highly lossy ones, we have already proposed the segmented file download method using PR-SCTP with unordered delivery. In a poor network condition in which the packet loss occurs frequently, using PR-SCTP with suitable control parameters can reduce the transmission waiting time caused by the back-off and unordered delivery can alleviate the influence of the head-of-line blocking. The existing research discussed suitable control parameters on the client side, while all the client can enjoy the fast download if the server side parameters are set appropriately. In this paper, first, we focus on the effect of the control parameters on the server, supposing the saturated flow, in which the server always retains its sending buffer filled, in order to eliminate the delay caused by the client requests. Then we discuss the room to improve our request methods for clients in terms of the control parameters on the client side. Our proposal which can adapt to various network environments should be one of the most important techniques to discuss the autonomous self-organizing networks.
