Abstract :
Filtering characteristics of cavities situated in two dimensional pillar-type photonic crystal waveguide with square lattice were simulated by constrained interpolated profile (CIP) method. The simulation results of resonance for 4 kinds of cavities were compared by using spontaneous electromagnetic energy density in microwave frequency range from 3.6 to 4.2 GHz. At the time step on which the density showed maximum, the electric field profiles were illustrated. Strong confinement of the field inside the cavity was confirmed graphically.
