Abstract
Many mobile communication service providers are trying their best to develop and commercialize all IP-based services. The reason is such services have a remarkable difference in bandwidth than existing services since all IP-based services use a broader bandwidth of LTE (Long Term Evolution). VoLTE (Voice over LTE), which provides a voice call based on LTE, is one of them and capable of providing voice call service of higher quality. VoLTE service, however, was commercialized by insufficiently considering security issues, leaving it vulnerable to various types of attack using the SIP protocol used in VoLTE. This paper explores the security threats to a VoLTE service network and proposes a countermeasure frame against them.
