Abstract
The knowledge of ferroelectric materials continued to expand in a number of directions during 1954. Promising piezoelectric properties were found by a National Bureau of Standards group (97) in lead titanate-lead zirconate ferroelectrics. The most noteworthy development in research on barium titanate is a great increase of interest in the growth of single crystals. Structural data on Rochelle salt and KH2 PO4 , especially those obtained by neutron diffraction, continues to add to the store of fundamental knowledge of ferroelectrics.
