Abstract :
Learning vocabulary of natural language is very important for deaf learners. It helps them understanding what they read, express their thoughts and communicate with others. Despite this importance, vocabulary acquisition remains a hard task which requires a higher motivation level. On the other hand, learning games are considered as one of the effective ways for increasing learner´s desire to learn. This paper presents an accessible version of the popular crosswords game for deaf learners. It allows learning Arabic vocabulary in a fun and interactive way. The game was used by 38 learners. The obtained results showed that the game enhances the learners´ level of knowledge regarding Arabic vocabulary. Besides, it showed that the learners are very satisfied with learning vocabulary using the game.
